Even though there are already two generations of the Corvette Z06 out there, the C6 Z06 is still one of the most impressive American muscle cars out there. The vehicle is equipped with a 7.0 liter V8 LS7 engine, delivering 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. In addition, the LS7 found in the Z06 Corvette of this generation is the most powerful production naturally aspirated engine made by General Motors. The engine is connected to a Tremec TR6060 manual transmission system, allowing the Z06 of this generation to accelerate from 0-60mph (0-100km/h) in 3.6 seconds.
The above was measured by Car and Driver who also ran the 1/4 mile in 11.7 seconds at 125 mph (201 km/h) back in October 2005. It’s worth noting that the Z06 was the official pace car for both the 2006 Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500 races. In all, a true American muscle car with loads of attractiveness and a large fan base, ensuring the aftermarket industry is kept busy with this vehicle.
This particular Corvette Z06 is ready for the track. This is due to several aerodynamic additions such as the carbon fiber front lip spoiler, canards, a vented hood, a set of side skirts, all wrapped up with a carbon fiber rear decklid spoiler. Furthermore, installed on top of the large red Chevrolet performance brakes is a set of Forgestar CF5 lightweight flow-formed wheels. While these five-spoke monoblock wheels come in standard (for us, anyway) sizing of 19×10 in the front and 19×12 in the rear, the wheels are finished in a vivid color choice called Tennis Ball Yellow. Certainly, this finish will not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it makes both the wheels and this Corvette Z06 stand out in the crowd. And that’s something racing drivers & team owners certainly appreciate. After all, everybody will remember that “Corvette with bright green wheels” after every track session or a road burnout, that’s for sure.
